Summary
The Senior IT Portfolio Manager works with leaders across the firm for his/her designated business process area (HR, HRIS, Learning and Development). Working closely with the business stakeholders, the Senior IT Portfolio Manager has ownership and accountability for all aspects of the technology program - solution fit to business needs, user acceptance and adoption, security, technical soundness and robustness, ROI/cost, time to delivery, prioritization of features, etc. This role is critical to aligning IT support, managing the technology roadmap and submits budget requests for the needed projects to achieve the objectives for the area.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with HR stakeholders, IT teams and third party vendors to ensure clear project planning, accurate timelines and effective communication across teams
- Lead continuous assessments and portfolio optimization efforts to align strategic HR and firm goals
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry and business trends in HR
- Awareness of best practices and competitive intelligence of what other firms are doing in this area
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership which will help improve HR technology operations
- Champion change and innovation in the area - socializing a forward-thinking program of projects and portfolio roadmap
- Identify required skills and roles to enable assembly of project teams based on resource estimates provided by relevant resource owners (Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, Project Managers, etc.)
- Work with other Senior Portfolio Managers to create solutions for technology trends that span across programs (e.g. compliance, big data, security, etc.)
- Facilitate the annual IT project budgeting process with accounting and IT portfolio directors for their assigned area
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment. Encourage continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems, related field or equivalent experience, with a preference for those with a degree
- Proven experience managing HCM implementation projects
- Strong understanding of HCM systems (Workday, Oracle HCM, etc.), integrations and HR data flows
- A minimum of 10 years of experience owning and leading complex programs of projects balancing a variety of perspectives and interests
- A minimum of 5 years of experience creating and managing product roadmaps, including enhancement and other user requests
- Executive presentation experience
Preferred:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Business, or Management Information Systems
- Experience in professional services environment
- Law firm experience
