Job Description Summary

The Structured Finance team is responsible for the management, accounting, reporting and tax returns for the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) funds. This position is responsible for preparation and analysis of (i) operating results for financial reporting for assigned funds in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (or other basis of reporting, e.g. tax basis, as necessary) to management, investors and regulatory agencies, (ii) review of entity tax returns and (iii) maintaining professional relationships and communication with internal stakeholders, investors, partners, third-parties, auditors and regulatory agencies to promote Enterprise's business. The position will be responsible for a portfolio of funds. This position requires enthusiasm, excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, analytical, and automation skills, and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain appropriate understanding of the line of business and organization structure necessary for the preparation and analysis of results and communications with our investors, partners and auditors.
  • Review and understand terms and conditions of operating and other agreements of assigned entities and ensure Enterprise enforces its rights and meets its obligations.
  • Process cash receipts and disbursements of assigned entities. Utilize uploads and DocuSign where applicable.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain general ledgers, supporting schedules, journal entries and workpapers in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles or other applicable basis of reporting and partnership agreements.
  • Create and ensure distribution of related investor/customer reports.
  • Interact with Enterprise staff, investors, and external auditors to provide accurate and timely financial information.
  • Work with NMTC Portfolio Management team to monitor compliance with NMTC regulations (e.g. maximum annual distributions; deal exits)
  • Respond to interim and year-end audit confirmations for loans receivable and payable received from third parties.
  • Manage all information and analysis necessary for timely completion of audits and tax returns.
  • Review entity audits and tax returns, including disclosures.
  • Drive for efficiencies throughout the Finance team, embracing technology and looking for ways to automate processes and cross train employees. Maintain up to date documentation of processes and procedures.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and other duties as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

General:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent is required.
  • 1-3 years accounting experience.
  • Must possess strong financial, analytical, organizational, and quantitative skills, and ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines with quality, accurate work product.
  • Must be highly motivated, be able to work independently and possess strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Incumbent is expected to demonstrate strong ethics, strong interpersonal and communication skills to represent the interests of Enterprise both within and outside the organization.

Specific:

  • Strong automation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft products and accounting applications.
  • Experience with accounting systems preferred, experience with Workday a plus.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and in team environments.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work under stress/pressure.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours during peak periods.

The base salary for this role is $ 63,000 to $ 73,000, depending on level of skills and experience.

The salary range for this position is represented by the low and high end of the range for the amount to be paid for the position. Salaries paid at Enterprise will vary based on factors that may include skills, education, location, experience, and performance. The salary range is just a part of the total rewards package provided to employees at Enterprise, and other rewards may include annual performance bonuses and generous paid leave programs.
