About This Role

The communication/marketing specialist manages communication for the Graduate School. This role is responsible for communication that supports student success initiatives, Graduate School events, internal communication with constituents in graduate programs and the K-State community, alumni relationships, and fundraising efforts.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager. Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of communication and marketing design principles
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Web editing experience
  • Experience using a variety of social media programs.
  • Experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
  • Ability to work independently and to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Two years' experience providing direction necessary to implement the objectives of an agency, program or organizational unit.
  • Administrative experience in a university
  • Project management experience
  • Proactive and ability to anticipate needs of the organization
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to think strategically and innovatively
