Position Summary

At Stony Brook Medicine, a TH Assistant Director of Nursing/Nurse Manager is a valuable member of our team, who provides clinical services tour patient population, will supervise, coordinate an direct the twenty-four hour daily supervision of a unit(s) and the staff. They provide a cost effective, safe, therapeutic and aesthetically pleasing environment. At Stony Brook Medicine the Nurse Manager for Invasive Cardiology will demonstrate superior patient care and possess outstanding communication skills while adhering to our high standard of excellence.

Duties of a Nurse Manager for Invasive Cardiology may include the following but are not limited to:



  • Identifies staffing needs based on patient acuity and nurse level of practice.
  • Plans monthly and vacation time schedules.
  • Interviews and recommends selection of nursing staff.
  • Completes shift and/or daily patient care and unit assignment sheets based on patient acuity and nurses' level of practice.
  • Delegates specific tasks to subordinates according to their abilities and the task at hand, providing them with direction and supervision for successful task completion.
  • Monitors the quality of nursing care rendered and the documentation of the nursing process through direct interaction with nursing staff and their assigned patients.
  • Coordinates the delivery of patient care rendered and the documentation of the nursing process through direct interaction with nursing staff and their assigned patients. Conducts ongoing review and audit of patients' medical records.
  • Ensures all staff's compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Establishes and maintains per levels of equipment and supplies needed to provide direct and indirect patient care.
  • Facilitates pertinent cardiac meetings for department and certification.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Cardiology certifications including, but not limited to, review and submission.
  • All other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Current NYS RN licensure
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration of related field, or current enrollment in a Master's program.
  • Minimum five years post-licensure in nursing with progressive leadership responsibilities.
  • Minimum three years relevant nursing experience.
  • Minimum two years management/supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively within and across service lines.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certification in specialty.
  • Cardiac Nursing experience.
  • Invasive Cardiology leadership experience.
  • Regulatory/certification management experience.

  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position is - $121519 - $163548 / year.

The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.

Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as:
