Clinical Transformation Analyst

Position Summary

The incumbent will utilize their healthcare background to collaborate with clinicians in the design and optimization of healthcare applications to improve patient outcomes. This position integrates health sciences and information science to manage and communicate data to support clinical practice. The informaticist will ensure the systems developed are consistent with evidence based best practices, clinical standards, quality and patient safety initiatives, and regulatory requirements.

Duties of a Clinical Transformation Analyst may include the following but are not limited to:



  • Strong understanding of clinical workflow processes, resulting in current and future workflow enhancements and performance improvements to support clinical practice
  • Analyzes assessment data to identify diagnosis, problems, issues and opportunities for improvement
  • Incorporates current statutes, rules, and regulatory requirements when planning workflow processes
  • Acts as a liaison and represents clinical members in all project initiatives.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary and process improvement teams to identify potential uses of information systems and potential optimization of current use of systems.
  • Supports the integration and use of evidence-based methods, tools, and guidelines linked to effective outcomes
  • Collaborate with education department to develop plans for training
  • Facilitate/attend meetings and serve as an advisor and coordinates champion participation. Distinguish between training, workflow or system issues and escalate/report issues to the correct persons and follow-up for closure.
  • Contributes to the productivity and efficient operation of the department through skills transfer, continued professional growth, and self-education of new emerging technologies.
  • Cultivates good working relationships with staff, department management, physicians and executives.


During implementation of the EMR, and on an occasional basis, the Clinical Transformation Analyst will be required to work irregular hours due to project deadlines.

Qualifications

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or other allied health professional with related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant Healthcare Informatics experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years healthcare related clinical experience.
  • Experience/knowledge of clinical application implementation experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to approach technical and user problems analytically.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-directed and show initiative and enthusiasm.



Preferred:



  • Cerner experience
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Information Technology
  • Informatics Certification
  • Previous participation or leadership with a hospital committee
  • Possession of a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State

  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Anticipated Pay Range:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $92856 - $109242 / year.

The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.

Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as:



  • Location pay for UUP, CSEA & PEF full-time positions ($3400)
