The San Franciscooffice of SmithGroupis looking for aEntry Level Landscape Architectto join our team.

Working with us, you will:



  • Prepare concepts, design development and graphic illustrations under direct supervision.
  • Participate in design meetings.
  • Work with senior landscape architects to compile data and prepare design solutions.
  • Work in collaborative integrated teams of professionals that include civil engineers, architects, building systems engineers, planners and environmental scientists.
  • Consult with product manufacturers, evaluate and select construction materials.
  • Assist in editing technical specifications.
  • Assist in reviewing shop drawings.
  • Visit construction sites to gather information, review design intent, inform and support senior project team members during the construction phase.
  • Use in-depth knowledge of trees, shrubs, ground covers, perennials, and annuals in preparing planting plans and landscape master plans.



An ideal candidate has:



  • A bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent.
  • 1-4 years of professional experience (including summer, co-op or intern work).
  • LEED AP preferred.
  • High proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Technical knowledge of landscape architecture site development elements.

While we may ultimately pay more or less than a posted salary range, at the time of posting the anticipated salary range for this position is $68,000 to $70,000 annually and you are eligible for a performance-based bonus each year.
