Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) provides integrated medical and behavioral health care to clients in a community based setting. Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) is part of a multidisciplinary team. Under supervision and within agency policy and clinical standards, this position will provide services to produce optimal outcomes for CCBHC SMI and COD clients discharging from inpatient to outpatient services. Services are provided primarily in a community-based setting but may be conducted through telehealth or in office settings too . The PRSS provides peer support services, based on an individualized, recovery-focused service philosophy that allows individuals the opportunity to learn to manage their own recovery and advocacy process. The RSS will work to enhance the development of natural supports, coping skills and other skills necessary to function as independently as possible in the community, including, but not limited to assisting re-entry into the community after incarceration, a hospitalization or other institutional setting. The PRSS serves as an advocate and provides information and peer support for consumers in the adult outpatient setting. The PRSS performs a wide range of tasks to assist consumers in regaining control of their lives and recovery processes.
