Job Description General Responsibilities: We are looking for a leader that is passionate about the environment and wants to make a difference in the world. Terracon, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a growth-oriented Group Manager for our Chicago region for our Due Diligence team. As the Due Diligence Group Manager, you will supervise or monitor all projects in progress in the group to ensure that work is executed on time and in accordance with the client's requirements and within company policies, procedures and standards. In this position, you will have the opportunity to lead the daily operations of a growing team, including safety, staff training & development, performance conversations, utilization of equipment and facilities, quality of services and work product, timely delivery of services and deliverables, and overall quality and client experience. You will also get the opportunity to work with the regional leadership team and environmental service line leadership to develop an Operations Plan and a business development strategy for your group with the goal of expanding the Due Diligence practice. This is a growth opportunity within an established foundational service at Terracon. Essential Roles and Responsibilities: At Terracon, all things start with safety. You will lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. You are responsible for creating and modeling a safety first mindset, safe work environment; demonstrating safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects. Responsible for preparation of proposals and cost estimates. With support from the Department/Office manager perform business and client development activities. With support from the Department/Office Manager develop and manage employee staffing plans, recruitment, selection and on-boarding. With support from the Department/Office Manager prepare and execute annual business plan for the specialty service group. With support from the Department/Office Manager oversee and manage the success of the key group metrics of revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and project profitability. Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies. Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices. Engage Approved Project Reviewers on projects at their onset. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in technical discipline practiced by the Firm including Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology and 10 years' practice experience. Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history. Preferred Certification: Certification or licensure in field of expertise. The expected salary range for this position is listed below. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
