Your Role on the Team

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced marketing and social media strategist to perform the full range of social media and marketing strategies, including developing and managing the UC Irvine School of Education's social media presence and digital content strategy. Responsibilities include content creation and ideation, video and photo production, graphic design and digital marketing projects, and creative storytelling.

Has a full understanding of industry practices and campus policies and procedures; resolves various issues.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $77,000.00- $108,100.00 (Annual).

Required:

  • Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of design and user experience, including skill to design in an appealing, lively and relevant way.
  • Thorough understanding of technical language and requirements of the assigned work.
  • Thorough knowledge of content management systems and / or relevant web applications used for web production and organization-specific computer application programs.
  • Thorough skills to create clear, easy-to-navigate, informative, accurate, well-designed, and functional web sites that provide web content consistent with the organization's message and in keeping with management directives and client objectives.
  • Thorough understanding of organization's processes, procedures, and applicable rules and regulations for web communications.
  • Thorough technical skills in computer applications for web production, image handling, publishing and design, illustration, presentation preparation, animation, web interaction, and / or other state-of-the-art web communication capabilities.
  • Thorough interpersonal communication skills.
  • Thorough skills to develop and implement original ideas and correctly identify and effectively solve problems.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • 3-5 years social media, marketing, content creation or a related field.

Preferred:

  • Solid understanding of social media and marketing principles, strategies, tools and best practices.
  • Familiarity with photo and video equipment, lighting, A/V for content capture and production.
  • Proficiency in video and photo editing software (e.g. Adobe Premier Pro, Photoshop, Canva) and basic graphic design.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, analytics and tools.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, ability to collaborate with key stakeholders.
  • Creative storytelling skills, with an eye for detail and design.
