Salary range:
The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $421,239. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See the Professorial Series (Adjunct, Clinical X, HS Clinical, In Residence, Ladder Rank) and Professor of Teaching Series - Health Sciences Compensation Plan. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. Application Window Open date: December 16, 2024 Next review date: Thursday, Jan 16, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Wednesday, Apr 30, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The University of California, Irvine (UCI) is seeking candidates for a tenure-track or tenured faculty member for an endowed chair in integrative health in the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI) and the School of Medicine. The endowed chair will be a collaborative and transformative leader, bridging numerous facets of the UCI enterprise to drive advancements in evidence-informed approaches to integrative health that have a profound impact on patient care and outcomes. With a focus on a research program in mindfulness and/or mind-body interventions, the endowed chair is expected to build upon the innovative work at UCI in integrative health, promoting broad partnerships and collaborative research within the UCI Health enterprise, with other University schools and departments, and with national cooperative group and industry research partners. Further reflecting UCI's ongoing and substantial investment in integrative health, this endowed chair in integrative health will be one of several faculty supported by endowed chairs across medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and population health to join the UCI integrative health research community in the coming years. Applicants should have an exemplary track record of extramural funding, impactful publications, and promising investigations focused on improving health and wellness through understanding biological effects of, and/or have experience in translational and clinical studies of complementary health interventions with a focus on mind-body. Experience within a health system of integrative, collaborative, patient-centered care that uses complementary therapies to enhance treatment efficacy, improve symptom control, and alleviate distress and suffering of patients is preferred. As an academic health system, the UCI mission also includes healthcare education, and therefore engagement of faculty in the area of integrative medicine in medical school education, residency and fellowship programs is also encouraged. Examples of relevant areas of investigation include: Successful candidates will receive Endowed Chair funds, and those who also qualify for a ladder-rank faculty appointment will have a University FTE. The Endowed Chair will be reviewed after five years for renewal. Applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD, PhD, DO, or equivalent and are required to have training and expertise in disciplines involved with mindfulness and/or mind-body therapies (neuroscience, psychology, neurology, psychiatry, medicine, etc.). Clinically active candidates must be board certified and eligible for licensure in the state of California. The integrative health endowed chair position is open at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the Professor, Professor-in-Residence, or Professor of Clinical X series.
