Summary

The Manager - IT Development oversees the design, development, testing, and deployment of technical solutions that enhance the experiences of Summit's members and employees. This role is responsible for executing technical projects aligned with Summit's strategic roadmap. The IT Development Manager collaborates closely with IT and business leaders to ensure development efforts meet the long-term needs of the credit union. Key responsibilities include leading a versatile, cross-functional team that adapts to changing priorities, delivering innovative solutions, mentoring technical staff, and upholding organizational development practices.

Capability Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Seven years or more of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role; or combination of applicable work experience and education
  • Strong technical background with expertise in relevant technologies and programming languages.
  • Proven experience in managing software development projects from inception to delivery.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance technical and operational responsibilities effectively in Summit's fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Exceptional people management skills to effectively lead and develop team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Experience with Agile software delivery methodology
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Environmental/Working Conditions: Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branches requires exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.
