Job Description

Position Title: Police Wellness Coordinator

The full hiring range for this position is: $70,124 to $103,785

Licenses/Certifications/Special Requirements:



  • Possession of valid Arizona driver's license (or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment).
  • Position is subject to callouts and required to work extended or irregular hours.
  • Must obtain CISM certification from the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc. within one year of employment.
  • Must pass Police Background Investigation to include polygraph, fingerprints, and drug screen.

The Police Wellness Coordinator promotes mental health and resiliency among Police Department employees. This role provides resources, training, and support to enhance employee well-being and coordinates key wellness initiatives. This is a professional staff position within the Police Department and performs or assists with the following tasks:



  • Develop and sustain a culture of mental health and wellness
  • Provide guidance to employees seeking services and facilitate access to proper resources
  • Design, promote, and conduct public safety mental health and resiliency training
  • Coordinate a cadre of Peer Support members
  • Lead wellness initiatives and collaborate with external organizations for wellness programming
  • Analyze the effectiveness of wellness programming

Please note this is a Fixed-Term (Contract) position that is eligible for benefits.

Minimum Requirements:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, or related field.
  • Experience: Four years of professional experience with public safety personnel in mental health and resiliency program development and implementation and training in CISM/Peer Support.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 20lbs.
