The Opportunity
As an Internal Quality Auditor for North America, you will be responsible for executing the global quality audit program to ensure process adherence at any manufacturing, service, or project site in all business units across North America. You will verify the effectiveness of documented processes on-site, ensuring compliance with international standards or internal Hitachi Energy standards. Any gaps identified must be documented, and corrective actions must be pursued until all gaps are closed. The successful execution of the audit program is essential to guarantee stable product and process quality for Hitachi Energy.
How You Will Make an Impact
Develop and implement a comprehensive 3-year audit program that covers all operational, project, and service units across North America. The program must be updated annually. Each international quality auditor is expected to plan 50-75% of their working time auditing (traveling)
Organize your audit schedule and coordinate detailed audit arrangements with the operation unit manager and the quality manager of this business
Provide an audit summary and deviation report at the end of each visit to the local management team
Archive all audits in a document management system. Deviations will have an owner and a due date. You are responsible for chasing all open actions triggered by your executed audits. In case of missing dates, the audit lead will escalate it to the Q&CI Management to raise awareness in leadership that dates are missed
Use deviation reports to identify structural issues in the processes. Analyze the results quarterly to identify structural weaknesses in business processes and share them with the Q&CI Management
Support and coach local process owners to develop robust root cause analysis and process improvements
Identify best-in-class processes during quality compliance audits and publish them as best practices to the rest of the organization. Leverage lessons learned
Develop key performance metrics to understand how many process deviations we experience and show that the audit process is effective
Uphold the core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the organization
