Lab Animal Vet Technician Sr

Job Description

.

The Senior Veterinary Technician will ensure a USDA compliant operating suite along with provide pre-, peri- and postoperative care in all USDA animals for study support and provide training to staff as needed.

  • Includes USDA OR maintenance, creating and maintaining appropriate records as required by the USDA.

  • Prepare animals for surgery, anesthetic monitoring, provide post-surgical care with associated veterinary and research staff.

  • Other duties related to USDA animals as assigned by hiring manager

Qualifications:

  • The position strongly recommends that the incumbent have an Associate or Bachelor's Degree in animal science or Biology.

  • At least 3 years of experience with USDA anesthesia support experience Certification as a Veterinary Technician is strongly preferred (i.e., CVT, LVT, RVT, etc.), and/or AALAS certification as an LAT or LATG.
