As an incoming team member in the Office of Budget and Finance, it will be expected that all employees embody and model Penn State's and Finance and Business's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Pennsylvania State University Office of Budget and Finance (Treasury Office) seeks an Accountant to manage the financial administration of the University's capital plan funding and perform all related accounting functions and reporting. Primary position duties include managing capital project budgets, including capital project funding and budget amendments, maintaining accurate records in the SAP system, obtaining appropriate approvals, monitoring balances, and reporting. The position will coordinate with financial areas University-wide to obtain approvals, communicate changes, and provide reports related to capital project funding. The position will be responsible for managing internal loans related to project funding which includes reporting on outstanding loans and balances, processing repayments, and maintaining loan information for use in Internal Bank Reporting. Tasks also include managing advance accounts for Federal grant and State funding related to capital projects. The position prepares monthly reconciliations of capital project balances, reserve balances, and advance balances. Other tasks include:

The position will be filled at an Accountant - Advanced Professional level and minimally requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field is highly preferred. Strong communication skills, organizational skills and proven record of success as a member of a professional team are desirable. This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process. Due to the financial and fiduciary responsibilities of this position, successful completion of a credit history check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
