As a Material Coordinator at Ryerson, you will be responsible for theproper completion of all plant and equipment maintenance to ensure maximum operational efficiency with limited unscheduled downtime.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Promote and demonstrate a safe work environment (compliant with EPA/OSHA regulations)
  • Complying to maintenance schedule and completion of preventative maintenance programs
  • Training and supervision of operators on daily maintenance tasks for equipment
  • Ability to react to unscheduled breakdowns with urgency
  • Capable of standard repairs on all machinery including plate fabrication equipment, material handling equipment, overhead cranes and building repairs
  • Ensure 80% up-time of all equipment with limited unscheduled production interruptions or breakdowns
  • Employee must also be able to respond on an on call basis.
  • All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

  • Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance role
  • Problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements regarding and OSHA CA state certificates
  • Able to operate forklift and overhead crane
  • Knowledge of equipment (cranes, shears, saws, motors, burning equipment)
  • Knowledge in the areas of electrical, mechanical and hydraulics
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks
  • Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding



Salary: $21.57 hourly. A starting salary higher than $21.57 hourly is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
