Overview

The EMS Shift Captain is the front line leader of EMS personnel during the shift to which they are assigned. This individual is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of their shift and the efficient use of personnel and equipment to respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls.

Qualifications:

A. Education
1. Graduation from an accredited Paramedic certificate or degree program
B. Experience
1. Minimum of five years as a paramedic in EMS
