Summary

The BSA Compliance Specialist will assist to ensure Summit's BSA/AML operations are in compliance with all State and Federal laws and regulations. They are responsible for staying current on changes to BSA/AML regulations and compliance matters, communicating updates to those impacted. They will provide proactive support to the BSA Manager and BSA Officers in the review of transactional reports, system alerts, regulatory reports, high risk and exempt members.

Expected Outcomes



  • BSA/AML system alerts & cases, CTRs and 314(a) requests are reviewed and submitted in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Policies, procedures, internal controls and processes are reviewed and maintained.
  • Maintain proficiency with BSA/AML laws and regulations through annual training.
  • All job functions are executed in a way that is consistent with all requirements of BSA, OFAC and the USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act.



Capability Requirements



  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two years' or more experience in the area of BSA/AML/OFAC related operations or compliance; or combination of applicable work experience and education.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and with all types of personalities.
  • Professional, well-developed written and oral communication skills necessary for communicating with all levels of employees.
  • A detail-oriented critical thinker who can analyze information, identify compliance issues and develop recommendations.

Physical Demands of Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and /or carry up to 10 pounds.
Environmental/Working Conditions: Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branches requires exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.
Equipment Used: Variety of office equipment (telephone, printer, pc, mobile devices, etc).
