As a member of Optum Rx Marketing, the Optum Home Delivery Pharmacy Growth Marketing Manager is responsible for building marketing strategies that increase consumer awareness and adoption of Optum Home Delivery and multi-dose pharmacy services. This role will design, develop and deploy marketing campaigns and website strategies to reach current and potential home delivery pharmacy utilizers while still meeting client and mandated requirements. The Marketing Manager position requires solid analytical abilities, project management skills, and experience leading and executing marketing strategies across multiple channels with a focus on paid media and web marketing. This role will manage several strategies simultaneously, from assessing and interpreting requirements through engaging and guiding cross-functional teams to create deliverables and meet deployment deadlines. The successful Marketing Manager will also build relationships with internal stakeholders, translate concepts into practice, and coach, provide feedback and guide others without direct influence to support a consumer-centric approach in the development and execution of pharmacy consumer marketing across all lines of Optum Rx business.

Additionally, the ideal candidate must be incurably curious and demonstrate an unlimited drive to learn our complex pharmacy and PBM businesses with a primary focus on getting to know consumer needs and motivations, and then translating that knowledge into actionable consumer awareness and patient engagement marketing strategies. You should thrive on seeking new information/insights, identifying complex problems and addressing them with creative solutions, seeing multiple projects through to completion, and measuring/reporting results.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Manage website strategy for both organic and paid media traffic, including regular SEO insights and optimization, alignment with direct-to-consumer digital campaigns, developing and maintaining annual website strategy roadmap, and collaborating across consumer, payer and provider marketing teams
  • Ideate, develop and maintain consumer pharmacy engagement campaigns with a focus on creative strategy and collaboration with the campaign data strategy team
  • Analyze industry trends, consumer behavior, consumer data and market insights to inform current strategies and drive future enhancements aligned to audience and business needs
  • Provide thought leadership to drive development of innovative, industry-leading marketing strategies, programs and initiatives
  • Align marketing initiatives/campaigns with applicable business goals/objectives, as well as the needs of identified target populations/clients
  • Develop trusting relationships with customers/clients/members to inform our marketing efforts and help improve our understanding of the customer experience (e.g., relevance, meaningfulness)
  • Gain alignment/commitment with business leaders on marketing strategies/initiatives (e.g., development and execution of marketing campaigns)
  • Ensure that the messaging used in marketing communications/materials support/align with marketing strategies (e.g., value proposition)
  • Manage the end-to-end build and deployment of marketing strategies
  • Develop and present strategies or creative briefs to leadership and key stakeholders to achieve buy-in, gather insights and facilitate the evolution of new or existing communication projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of marketing experience within a matrix organization
  • 2+ years of digital marketing and paid media experience
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, verbal and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
  • Self-managed but able to work both independently and with a cross-functional team
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills with ability to report on and manage multiple projects effectively
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism or English
  • 1+ years of pharmacy marketing experience
  • Experience working in a complex, matrix organization, preferably in health care or with a creative agency

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
