Position: Chapter Director, Fundraising & Development
Location: Miami, FL (hybrid, 3 days/week in office)
Reports to: Regional Vice President

Position Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Chapter Director to support and expand a rapidly growing non-profit organization. This role focuses on building relationships with key stakeholders, inspiring and motivating them to achieve fundraising goals. The ideal candidate will be engaging, empathetic, and possess strong communication skills, with a natural ability to build connections and drive results.

The position requires self-direction and initiative, working closely with both colleagues and local Board members to achieve organizational goals. Fundraising efforts will involve individuals, foundations, and planned giving. The role is dynamic and requires adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Chapter Operations:

  • Collaborate with national leadership on decisions related to development, fundraising, finance, marketing, events, human resources, and digital tools.
  • Manage the chapter's budget, focusing on achieving top-line revenue while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Develop a donor research plan and create a stewardship program to motivate and coach team members.

Board Governance:

  • Effectively communicate with local leaders, providing timely information and support for successful fundraising efforts.
  • Work with the Board to support prospect/donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
  • Provide regular, accurate reporting to the Regional Vice President and Board members.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Achieve a minimum annual fundraising goal of $5 million.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with at least 120 significant donors and 200 less significant donors.
  • Cultivate and steward new donors contributing $5,000 or more, while securing new donors contributing over $1,800.
  • Collaborate with the Planned Giving and Foundations department to identify and refer new prospects.

  • Focus on relationship-building and achieving fundraising goals.
  • Enthusiastic communicator with the ability to engage others and work collaboratively.
  • Leadership skills to motivate others and delegate responsibilities effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sales or fundraising, with a proven track record of driving revenue.
  • Knowledge of the local community and relevant networks is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and experience with CRM tools (Raiser's Edge preferred).
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally internationally; flexibility for evening and weekend work as needed.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;
  • other business and organizational needs.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
