Are you seeking an opportunity to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic laboratory environment? As an Anatomic Pathology Technologist I, you'll play a vital role in the efficient functioning of our laboratory and morgue. Reporting to the Surgical Pathology and Autopsy Supervisors, you'll perform technical and clerical tasks under direct and indirect supervision.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

In this role, you'll:

  • Accurately triage and accession specimens, including frozen section specimens.

  • Ensure proper labeling of all received specimens and troubleshoot deficiencies.

  • Coordinate administrative duties for the Autopsy Service, including reconciling daily manifests and obtaining proper patient authorization.

  • Assist with technical duties in the autopsy suite and morgue, including patient identification and specimen collection.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the autopsy suite and laboratory.

Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required:
To excel in this role, you must demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy.

  • Adherence to standard precautions and laboratory safety policies.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  • Manual dexterity and proficiency in computer programs.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Baccalaureate degree in biological sciences required.

  • Courses in Medical Terminology and Human Anatomy preferred.

Experience:

  • One year of related clinical experience preferred.
