As a Loan Processor 2, you'll be at the heart of our mission to provide top-notch service to our members, external customers, and internal staff. You'll tackle both routine and complex tasks, from ordering and verifying essential documentation to submitting flawless loan files to underwriters. Your role will also involve preparing loan documents and maintaining meticulous member files. Throughout the loan process, you'll be the go-to person for prompt, courteous, and thorough assistance, utilizing multiple communication channels to ensure our members' needs are met with excellence. Expected Outcomes



  • Members are clearly communicated with throughout the loan process.
  • Complete loan applications are submitted to underwriting for approval, with all necessary documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Pipeline is monitored daily, and tasks are kept to a minimum and completed timely.
  • Collaboration with underwriters, Mortgage Loan Officers, and other internal and external contacts to optimize the member and employee experience.
  • Final closing packages and numbers are provided to necessary parties within established timeframe prior to closing.



Capability Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus some additional post-secondary technical coursework in real estate or lending or the equivalent work experience.
  • Must have or be able to attain a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number.
  • One year work experience in a mortgage lending environment.
  • Professional well developed interpersonal skills essential for interacting with credit union staff and members.
  • Work requires ability to work accurately with figures and ability to perform detailed work.
  • Requires the ability to follow-up on problems presented to members and co-workers using a customer service approach including use of investigative problem solving.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of laws and regulations that govern mortgages.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Physical Demands of Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and /or carry up to 10 pounds.
