Title: Project Subcontract Manager
Location: Houma, LA

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Project Subcontract Manager to oversee and ensure that subcontractors meet performance objectives, schedules, and deliverables in accordance with contractual obligations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with extensive experience in shipbuilding or manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities



  • Direct and integrate subcontract efforts into overall construction plans.
  • Develop and maintain detailed construction plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with construction drawings and specifications.
  • Oversee the availability of materials and labor resources to meet project demands.
  • Conduct labor estimates and manage manpower schedules effectively.
  • Coordinate subcontract activities with ship management to maintain quality standards.
  • Manage subcontract activities related to production, including schedule coordination, subcontract progress tracking, change order management, and integration with construction processes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for production involvement and communication.
  • Coordinate and schedule all project aspects among disciplines such as engineering, procurement, production, and supply chain.
  • Develop mitigation solutions to ensure construction efforts remain aligned with the project plan.
  • Address daily personnel, equipment, and facility issues while implementing remedial actions.


Qualifications



  • Experience:


    • Minimum of 8 years in shipbuilding/manufacturing or 5 years in both shipbuilding and marine outfitting, propulsion, and auxiliaries.
    • Proficient in resource planning, scheduling, and managing complex projects.
    • Intermediate understanding of USCG regulatory requirements and craft-specific processes.


  • Education:


    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine).


  • Skills:


    • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Capable of multi-tasking and managing competing priorities.
