(This role has a hybrid schedule with 3 days in office and 2 days flex-remote)

The Corporate Insurance team at UHS is looking for motivated Claims Paralegal to join our innovative team and contribute to the support of the claims department based at UHS' Headquarters in King of Prussia, PA.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Serves as a support to the UHS Claims Team including discovery coordination on larger cases and bulk communication with defense counsel panel.
  • Manages the video preservation process for UHS Risk and Claims.
  • Key contact for communication effors with UHS excess insurance and reinsurance carrier business partners.
  • Also serves as the logistics manager for closed file purge process.
  • Assists in the logistical management of the legal invoice process in compliance with UHS cost control, litigation and billing guidelines, including creation of new matters in LegalTracker.
  • Attend weekly meeting with supervisor to review ongoing projects, work flow process, and new assignments.
  • Serves as Claims lead for the UHS defense Counsel Conference annually.
  • Assist in CMS compliance efforts.

Qualifications

Associates degree required with 3-5 years of experience. Bachelors degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of claims and tort litigation processes and procedures with specific knowledge of legal billing and logistical support.

  • Healthcare industry experience is preferred but not required.

  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word and ability to learn and utilize other web-based programs and databases, including Legal Tracker.

  • Strong ability to work independently, take initiative and work well with others.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.

  • Paralegal Certification is preferred but not required.
