Bigelow 14 is seeking a PCA, with Day shift availability, and to provide every other weekend and holiday coverage. The Adult Inpatient Medical unit is twenty-seven beds and located in Boston, MA. The unit serves patients from culturally diverse backgrounds and geographic areas that present with acute and complex medical problems. Patients are generally admitted to our unit from the Emergency Department or as a transfer from one of the intensive care units. What are we looking for? Assisting the healthcare team, the PCA promotes a safe and caring environment for patients under the mentorship of an RN. PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner. Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers. Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills. Ability to lift and transport patients, using the appropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self. Schedule Day 7a-7pm Every other holiday and weekend schedule 36 hours/week What do we have to offer?
