Job Description

The Dental Clinic in UMKC School of Dentistry is seeking a Office Support Assistant IV (Team Clerk) who is known for their attention to detail, ability to take initiative, and problem-solving abilities. Working with individuals across several levels of the organization, this individual must be able to communicate effectively, and successfully coordinate several projects, while meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work. Successful applicants will be organized medical and/or dental records professionals, with proficient knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
This is a rewarding position as you would be assisting students to reach their requirement goals for graduation as well as assisting patients to achieve overall health. Our dental clinics see 200+ patients per day!
Duties include but are not limited to:
Manage the UMKC School of Dentistry Team 2 Department appointment schedule
Answer departmental phone to make appointments with patients
Greet/provide information to dental school patients
Make patient appointments in axiUm software
Assign new patients to dental students via the Clinic Management System Software
Review patient charts to determine if appropriate recall/assignment was accomplished after the appointment.
Gather, organize, and summarize information requested by supervisor
Shift

40 weekly hours, Monday-Friday

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working with medical and/or dental records
Previous experience with scheduling or appointment coordination
Proficient knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
Anticipated Hiring Range

$15.00 - $17.50 per hour commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
