Oppportunity Overview: Reactor Coolant Pump Supervisor at Calvert Clifffs - 24+ months contract position

Westinghouse is looking for a Reactor Coolant Pump Supervisor for a long term contract at Calvert Cliffs. The Reactor Coolant Pump Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in operation and control of thermonuclear reactors, turbine generators, and auxiliary equipment at electric generating stations. You will oversee activities of workers, review status reports of station operations, and monitor and analyze readings of instrumentation systems to ensure safe operation of reactor and auxiliary equipment in accordance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations.

What your day-to-day looks like:




  • Confers with supervisory personnel to coordinate activities of operations and maintenance workers engaged in performance of routine and emergency shutdowns and maintenance of equipment and machinery.
  • Prepares training outlines and instructs workers in such subjects as mathematics, reactor physics, and electrical theory, according to federal regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other duties as described as prescribed by Westinghouse Nuclear as well as the utility that is being serviced.



What we need to see from you:




  • High school education, preferably a combination of education and experience in the field of Reactor Coolant Pump operation, maintenance as well as repair.
  • The ability to work shifts and overtime as required.
  • The ability to pass background screening, drug test and be deemed trustworthy and reliable.
  • The ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a radiation protection team, given broad and general program/project directions.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position including routinely lift and transport of 40 pounds, frequently bend and stoop, stand and walk for 4-6 hours per day.
  • Successfully pass a routine medical examination as well as successfully pass applicable training including Respirator Fit Testing.
  • Be able to maintain a valid driver's license.
