JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Lehigh Valley invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer of Information Sciences and Technology (IST). The Assistant Teaching Professor title designates completion of terminal degree. (This is a one year appointment, with an option for renewal, 36 weeks, to begin August 5, 2025, or as negotiated.) Responsibilities: Teach each semester using primarily traditional and/or hybrid delivery methods. Online delivery methods may also be used. Successful candidates will be able to teach courses within the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Analytics and Operations baccalaureate programs. Courses range from introductory subjects such as Computer Systems Literacy, Information, People, and Technology, Programming (Java, Python), and Security and Risk Analysis, to upper-level courses in Human Centered Design and Development and Cybersecurity-related topics. Teaching assignments may require teaching day and/or evenings as needed. Faculty are expected to engage in activities to stay current in their discipline, advise students and provide career guidance, participate in campus, university, and community service activities, and actively participate in course, curriculum, and program development. Qualifications: Minimum of Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline from an accredited institution. The coursework for the first two years of more than 275 Penn State baccalaureate majors is offered, as well as 10 baccalaureate degrees, including a B.S. in Information Technology, B.S.in Cyber Analytics and Operations.
