System Engineer 1 - PIPELINE

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to perform remote maintenance and refresh efforts as a Site Engineer. In this role, you will interact daily with partner entities, utilizing your expertise in Linux and Ciena for system administration, troubleshooting, software loading, and telecom network configuration. Your responsibilities will include configuring new software updates, engaging with SMEs, performing data validation post-deployment, submitting DMRs for data flow issues, and integrating existing software into new or modified systems. Proficiency in NiFi and a solid understanding of data flow, cables, and collection systems are essential.

The Level 1 Systems Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:

• Performs daily interaction with partner entities.
• The Engineer will need experience in Linux and Ciena to support with system administration, troubleshooting, loading software, configuration of telecom network and software packages.
• Needs knowledge of cables and collection systems and how they work as well as understand data flow.
• Engineer will engage SMEs, perform data validation once software is deployed, submit DMRs for data flow path problems/fixes, configure new software updates, and perform troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
• Seven (7) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree
• Must be experienced in NiFi and Linux.

Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph

Pay Range: 118,000-185,000
