Status: Seasonal, Non-ExemptStarting Wage: $15.00/hr. - 36 hours a week
Department: County Administrator

*Position is specific to high school students who are completing their junior year in the spring of 2025 and going to be seniors in fall of 2025 school year.*


  • Monday - Friday, 36 hours a week, 1/2 day Friday



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities may vary based on the department or office.



  1. Works closely with other department members to assist with ongoing projects or tasks.
  2. Observes and learns from department mentors to gain insights into job responsibilities and the comprehensive services County government provides.
  3. Performs hands-on experiences by working alongside experienced professionals in various departments within Dodge County Government.
  4. Participates in daily operations and projects as assigned by each Department.
  5. Networks with county employees and other interns.
  6. Creates a presentation to present to Dodge County Executive Committee highlighting the experiences learned about Dodge County services provided and the career pathway opportunities available in County Government.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to have reliable attendance.
  • Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; regularly requires sitting, frequently requires standing, speaking or hearing, using hands to handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Work has standard vision requirements.
  • Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.
  • Work is generally in a moderately noisy office setting.
  • Work may require observing general surroundings and activities.
  • Work will include occasional outdoor activities in seasonal weather extremes.
  • Skill in organizational and time management to prioritize duties to accomplish a high volume of work products while adapting to constant changes in priority.
