SHIFT: Day (United States of America)Seeking Breakthrough Makers We are seeking a dynamic and innovative expert in mouse behavior to serve as a Technical Director to lead the Behavioral Evaluation of Advanced Model Systems (BEAMS) Facility. BEAMS will be a Hub in the new Center of Emphasis at CHOP, The Center for Brain Research in Development, Genetics, and Engineering (BRIDGE). The BRIDGE Center is a translational neuroscience center focused on mechanisms of brain development and neurodevelopmental disorders including childhood epilepsy, developmental delay, autism spectrum disorder, developmental brain injury, and psychiatric and behavioral disorders. The goal of the Center is to translate scientific insights into the implementation of novel therapeutics in patients. The BRIDGE Center will occupy a customized space designed to enhance collaboration in the Morgan Center for Research and Innovation (MCRI) on the CHOP campus, scheduled for completion in the fall of 2025. The BEAMS Director will provide comprehensive support to Center investigators including full-cycle experimental design and execution; direct validation of methodologies and conduct of experiments; training for laboratory personnel in experimental procedures and analysis; data analysis and figure generation, particularly for pilot studies; specialized support for machine learning applications; strategic consultation on behavioral plans, data interpretation, and grant proposal feasibility; maintenance and optimization of BEAMS equipment, including regular updates to software and hardware systems; and allocation of facility resources.
