ABOUT THE JOB

The Sr. Insurance Claims Analyst maintains the day-to-day operations of the internal and external claims management team to ensure risk transfer and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate needs excellent quantitative and analytical skills and the ability to apply those skills across a variety of risk management frameworks.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE




  • Maintain formalized claims service standards with service providers, outside claims adjusters and third-party insurance claim administrators and provide feedback on enhancements and changes to the program as needed.
  • Oversee claims handling and coordinate with legal counsel, third-party adjusters, and internal leadership to determine resolution strategies and provide recommendations for claims settlements based on policy provisions.
  • Provide support for insurance exposure submissions, post renewal subjectivities, and reporting to management.
  • Coordinate with other areas of the company with claims management responsibility for insured claims and claim administration issues relating to coverage interpretation or other matters relating to the insurance program.
  • Provide feedback on the development and enhancement of internal policies and procedures regarding claims management and other risk control programs.
  • Implement and monitor risk control initiatives and incentive programs.
  • Attend and lead training sessions on risk control and claims management.
  • Provide input for loss projection methodology, insurance expense allocations, and loss analytics.
  • Produce risk and claims management monitoring reports to support accounting and business unit management.
  • Analyze claims data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in RMIS system administration and report development.
  • May be required to operate a company vehicle.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by leader.
  • Reliable and regular attendance is required.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in risk management, insurance or related field, and five years of litigated liability claim work experience is required.
  • High school diploma with ten years of litigated liability claim work experience will also be considered.
  • Professional designation related to insurance claims competency is strongly preferred.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS




  • Competency with risk management information systems and/or the TPA claims system.
  • Leadership and teambuilding skills.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Advanced computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel are required.
  • Travel by various means for claims-related matters up to 15% of the time is required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license is required to drive a company vehicle.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
  • Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.



Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena.

The work environment for this position is that of a typical office environment where the noise level is mostly quiet. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit. You may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
