Job Summary

The primary function of this position is to provide clinical, operational, and analytic decision support to the: Chief Physicians for EM/HM, VP of Operations, and Director. Candidate must have strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills; ensure data integrity, and have the ability to use data to support appropriate course of action. The Clinical Practice Analyst is responsible for the data collection, preparation and analysis of multi-entity key performance metrics, including practice performance and staffing analytics, enhancing patient flow, quality and safety analytics, ROI analyses, and reporting to support and leverage clinical and financial data to provide meaningful analysis and actionable data for the Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine Leadership teams.

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Compile data into spreadsheets and databases. Define data elements.
  • Analyze data to assist in decision making; determine key findings, patterns and trends; determine need for drilldown information, and make recommendations based on key findings.
  • Manages, develops, and distributes quarterly scorecards for HM Physicians with the goal of reviewing performance on a group and personal level.
  • Responsive to the needs and requests of providers and escalates issues Administrators where appropriate.
  • Responsible for departmental special projects assigned by the Administrator.
  • Determine best tools and methods for presenting information (dashboards, tables, charts, narratives, etc.) Manages organizational scorecards, metrics, and targets and ensuring validity and reliability of data.
  • Develop and maintain data dashboards to support operational, financial, and clinical initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain Hospital Medicine Census Dashboard, provide monthly reports to update leadership regarding census trends and staffing needs.
  • Enhance data consistency and provide guidance with changes in data requirements.
  • Track, review, and approve purchased services invoices and prepare monthly accruals. Review department accounts payable to ensure timely payment of all invoices. Analyze patterns and trends to meet budgetary restrictions for EM and HM.
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a wide range of client/customers at all levels of the organization with differing levels of technical knowledge including presentations and educational sessions.
  • Develop and manage special projects developed in partnership with contracted vendors and Emergency Medicine or Hospital Medicine leadership, as applicable Ensure performance expectations are being met by contractors/vendors.
  • Manages daily changes related to the Practice schedule including PTO usage, overtime, shift changes, and compensation adjustments.
  • Assist with payroll as requested.
  • Strong project management and problem solving/conflict resolution skills essential.
  • Work in fast-paced environment and able to handle multiple priorities/tasks.
  • Have an understanding of patient flow through the healthcare continuum and work to enhance flow and limit barriers whenever possible.
  • Deadline oriented.
  • Well organized and strong attention to detail.
  • Effectively and appropriately manage confidential information/ Maintain complete confidentiality of all Department information.
  • Work responsibly in a team environment and independently.
  • Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity and constant change.
  • Proficiency with standard computer hardware and software.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel required. Knowledge of Access, PowerPoint.
  • EPIC experience strongly preferred. Ability to run, export, and analyze Epic reports.
  • Ability to develop comfort with use of all clinical data systems.
  • Competency with Qlik databases.
  • Make presentations to teams and committees, as requested.
  • Assist departments, teams and committees in identifying data-based opportunities for quality improvement outcomes and cost-savings.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/Leadership Team.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education: Includes High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree (Specify field). Also includes Schools like Medical Assistant, etc. NO listings like Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.

Experience: Only years of experience in a particular setting, e.g. "5 years of experience in a doctor's office required."
