We are the Piedmont Triad's only private psychiatric hospital meeting the chemical dependency illnesses and behavioral healthcare needs of those in our community. Our 164-bed inpatient services for adolescents through senior adulthood offers comprehensive and individual assessments, psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization, daily group therapy and personalized aftercare planning. We also offer a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program to ensure the continuum of care for our patients. Old Vineyard is accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This opportunity is for a per diem (PRN) Dietary Aide.

Job Duties:

  1. Preparing and serving regular and special diets to patients and employees.
  2. Following recipes in preparation of menu items.
  3. Following production sheets for preparation of current and future meals.
  4. Prepares meals in accordance with service schedule.
  5. Ensures food presentation is pleasant and food temperatures are appropriate on the serving line and in food storage areas.
  6. Utilizes proper sanitation methods in preparation and serving of food.
  7. Washing dishes, trays and other cooking utensils. Performing general cleaning duties (sweeping, mopping, trash removal, cleaning of drink machines, cooking equipment, etc.) to maintain a safe and healthy kitchen and food service area as well as to remain in compliance with Health Department regulations.
  8. Role is physically demanding and position requires assisting with the unloading of food delivery and storage in proper location.
  9. Individuals considered for this position must have a friendly and outgoing attitude, must be service-oriented and willing to go beyond the general expectations to please the customer and have a positive team approach to accomplishing tasks.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have active NC Driver's License free of major infractions including reckless driving and DUI - DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS POSITION IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ACTIVE NORTH CAROLINA DRIVER'S LICENSE.
  • This is a hospital setting serving meals during day and evening hours. Candidates must have flexible availability to meet department needs with schedules ranging between 6am - 8pm seven days per week. All Dietary staff are required to work every other weekend and rotating holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous dietary experience in healthcare setting preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred.
  • Background Check and Drug Screen required for employment
  • Requires sufficient body mobility to accomplish essential functions. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend, stoop, and kneel with ease. Requires walking and standing often. Requires frequently speaking face-to-face. Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Communicating fluently and effectively both verbally and in writing in English. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to appropriately and professionally interact with all staff, patients, visitors, attending physicians, and other department representatives.
