PSG is now seeking individuals to join our Family Support program, where you will have a vital role in reducing the sense of abandonment children experience during out-of-home placements. As the Family Support Specialist, you will maintain family relationships by enhancing and supporting parenting skills. Family Support Specialists also identify and resolve problems both before and after children return home.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FAMILY SUPPORT SPECIALIST:



  • Create and review desired behavior change goals with family.
  • Facilitate visitations with family members, and promote safety and family engagement.
  • Provide parent coaching during child/family interaction visitation.
  • Evaluate youth and families for treatment needs and refer to appropriate resources.
  • Act as a resource to evaluate and determine necessary responses in de-escalating crisis situations with youth and families.
  • Provide designated parent curriculum in individual and/or group settings.
  • Safely transport clients as needed and practice safe infant/child car seat installation and use.





LOCATION: Janesville, WI. Local travel will be required to complete in-home client visits throughout Rock County, with mileage reimbursement. Position offers some flexibility for hybrid scheduling when client visits are not scheduled.

SCHEDULE: Part-time 20-25 hours per week. Schedule will include evenings and/or weekends.

SALARY: $20.00 per hour

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
  • Must have at minimum, 60 college/university credit hours completed toward a Human Services-related degree; or commensurate experience working with at-risk youth and families.
