THE TEAM
Our board-certified orthopedic surgeons and advanced practice clinicians specialize in a broad range of areas, including joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, trauma/fractures, osteoporosis care, and general orthopedic treatment. We provide expert care for conditions affecting the arm, elbow, ankle, hand, wrist, hip, knee, and shoulder, as well as comprehensive diabetic wound care.

THE POSITION

We are looking for a dedicated orthopedic surgeon to join our expanding team and help provide exceptional care to our patients. While we prefer a full-time physician, this role offers the flexibility of less-than-full-time employment, as mutually agreed upon with the employer. The physician in this role will have the opportunity to perform surgical procedures specializing in joint reconstruction (ROSA robots available), design and implement individualized treatment plans, encompassing preoperative and postoperative care, rehabilitation, and patient education, as well as:



  • Manage approximately 24-28 pre-and post-op patients on clinic days
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver holistic and personalized care
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive medical records, documenting patient progress, surgical outcomes, and follow-up care plans
  • Utilize EPIC EMR in all practice settings
  • Participate in monthly total joint committee membership meetings
  • Participate in light practice call (phone-based) with no hospital visits required. Call coverage involves 1-week block rotations shared among 18 providers
  • Work with a 1-to-1 physician-to-advanced practitioner ratio
  • Provide care at the main orthopedic clinic and the main hospital campus, located approximately 2.6 miles apart
  • Occasionally mentor family medicine residents during their rotations, coordinated by the orthopedic clinic manager
  • Receive referrals from a wide range of sources, including internal organization providers, local emergency departments, urgent care centers, and community partners from across Northern New Mexico


Requirements



  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery with a focus on Total Joint Reconstruction.
  • Current and unrestricted medical license.
  • Demonstrated excellence in total joint reconstructive surgery through clinical experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Collaborative and pleasant attitude with the ability to foster patient trust and understanding.
  • Prefer 2+ years of experience but new graduates will be considered.
