About the role: As a Lead Mechanical Engineer under the Operating Plants Mechanical Systems group, you will:
You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager of Balance of Plant Mechanical Engineering. The hybrid position is based at our Rock Hill, SC office which involves a mix of on-site and remote days, typically within the same week. Key Responsibilities:
Be a liaison/POC between Global Engineering and Component Services (GECS) and the Americas Engineered Systems and Solutions department, including:o Participating in weekly project status meetings, as neededo Supporting the BOP Mechanical PEM in the development of project technical descriptions and estimateso Qualifying engineer, responsible engineer or task engineer for projectso Review/approve project documentso Provide management feedback on project performance
Provide input to GES' Monthly Operations Report (MOR)
Overall role responsibilities include:o Setting daily operational goals for individuals or teams, ensuring that policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed.o Proactively driving continuous improvement and recommending alterations to development and design to improve quality of products, processes, and/or procedures, and contribute to development of new methods and processes, and their introduction and to change management.o Lead specific aspects of group-level technical training. Leverage thorough knowledge of Westinghouse products and solutions as a differentiator to positively improve customer relationships.
Qualifications:
12+ years of experience
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical (preferred), Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering and Master of Science (M.S.)/Master of Business Administration (MBA) ().
Work with multiple teams to coordinate the flow of information.
Strong leadership and general understanding of project management and financial models.
Several L3 competencies within the Global Competency Model; some L4s are a plus.
PE license, or ability to obtain within 2 years of accepting position.
Technical Leader Development Program (TLDP) Level 2 completed..
Work in an international team environment.
Ability to travel for 10-25% of the time.
