Position Summary

Leonardo DRS in Cypress, CA is seeking a Quality Assurance intern to support operations staff in process and continuous improvement in support of production operations. The candidate must be a well-organized self-starter, able to work in a team environment, have good communication and technical skills, and able to professionally interact with other departments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collect data and reviews documentation for conformance, accuracy and completeness. Coordinate and/or inspect product for conformance to drawings and documentation
  • Able to interpret and apply industry standards such as IPC 610, ANSI J-STD-001, etc
  • Assist Quality Engineers with development of inspection plans, MRB investigations and process surveillance/audit activities; also,
  • Provide regular reporting of progress and status
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules
  • Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications and Required Skills
  • Pursuing undergraduate degree in an Engineering curriculum, 3rd Year status minimum
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university and maintain a 3.3 or higher GPA
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tool suite
  • Be available to work part-time (10-20 hours per week)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well both as part of a team or as an individual
  • Ability to manage multiple short-term projects simultaneously

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

The expected pay scale for this position is $18.42/hour - $25.33/hour. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly. When extending an offer of employment, Leonardo DRS considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; any Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the candidate's relevant work experience, education/training, certifications, and key skills; internal equity; and market and business considerations.
