Position Summary:

Vallen's Fluids Technicians are responsible for checking, measuring, and adding various forms of metalworking fluids (e.g., water, coolant, lubricant, etc.) used to reduce heat and friction and/or remove metal particles to ensure proper maintenance and operation of machinery.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check fluid reservoir levels and measure fluid concentrations in machinery and/or sumps.
  • Add fluids in the correct ratios to sump and/or machinery as required (e.g., product coolant, water, lubricant, etc.).
  • Record data for each sump and/or machinery.
  • Support change-out of metalworking fluid systems under customer direction.
  • Clean sump screens.
  • Change filters.
  • Monitor fluid inventory levels and report when inventory is low.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; directly applicable experience may be substituted.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Accurately read and understand measurement devices.

  • Work is in a manufacturing environment and will have exposure to dirt, smoke, heat, cold, etc.
  • Safety protection is required while performing job duties (hand, foot, and eye).
  • Overtime hours may be required with little advanced notice.

Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.):

  • While performing the duties of this job, associates are required to:
    • Stand on a concrete surface for at least 8 hours a day.
    • Lift and move up to 50 lbs.
    • Operate various forms of hand-held and manually operated power tools and measuring devices.
    • Vision abilities re required by this job.
