What you'll do

Docusign is excited to offer an AI Platform Engineering Internship to a driven and innovative junior college student. The intern will be able to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to real-world projects that drive our business forward. This position will introduce the intern to various AI/ML technologies, including document understanding, natural language processing, prompt engineering, intelligent search systems, industry-leading LLMs, Python, and Azure, and provide a platform for prototyping and productizing solutions for real business use cases at scale.

This role is not eligible for CPT, OPT or sponsorship.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering.

Responsibility

  • Collaborate with Applied Science, Product, and other engineers across multiple offices and time zones to create and deliver new machine learning products and features on time
  • Contribute to the development of AI infrastructure by building highly scalable gRPC-based services to enable offline and online machine learning pipelines, ensuring enterprise-grade security and reliability
  • Write clean, maintainable, efficient code compliant with Docusign standards and best practices
  • Participate in code and design reviews, ensuring the quality and maintainability of our codebase
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test, and production environments
  • Document code, write technical specifications, and contribute to our internal knowledge base
  • Work closely with mentors and other team members to achieve project goals and meet deadlines
  • Engage actively in continuous learning and development in emerging technologies and platforms

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Junior standing graduating in December 2025, May/June 2026

Preferred

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python
  • Basic understanding of AI
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and eagerness to tackle complex challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm for learning and working with different technologies, including AI/M
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow
  • Ability to receive and give feedback

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

Washington, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $31.00/hour - $38.00/hour
