Seasonal Small Engine Mechanic

Location: Airway Heights, Washington

Type: Non-Exempt - Temporary

Work Schedule: Full-time, seasonal- Day

Compensation: $22.65 - $22.65/hour

Tessera is seeking a motivated and hard working Seasonal Small Engine Mechanic with a positive and helpful attitude. This is a temporary position and is expected to run up to but no longer than November 30, 2025.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performs maintenance of equipment to include, but not limited to, wheeled vehicles, track vehicles, engineer equipment, power generation, and material handling equipment.

  • Accomplish minor repairs and perform services as outlined in established technical manuals.

  • Perform inspection and repair on brakes, suspension, wheels, hubs and steering systems.

  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment.

  • Understand and follow technical manuals, lube orders, wiring and hydraulic schematics to ensure proper diagnosis and repair during annual services.

  • Perform major repair jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, removing components, removal and installation of assemblies and installation of components.

  • Maintain Operational Vehicle Maintenance schedules.

  • Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.

  • Ensure quality service to meet the contract requirements.

  • Employee shall follow and adhere to all safety provisions as stated in the employee handbook, training and Skookum leadership.

  • All Other Duties As Assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of safe work practices.

  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor.

  • Ability to use computers and computer software, to include Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow technical manuals.

  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task throughout workday, with constant interruptions

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
