The Sr. Facilities Manager is responsible for proactively managing the planning and maintenance of Novanta's Bedford, MA building and processes, as well as key projects across our East Coast facilities. This leadership role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including Corporate Real Estate, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Manufacturing Operations, and others to plan, budget, schedule, and oversee facility maintenance activities and modifications. Additionally, the EHS Manager will report directly to this role. Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain building systems, including plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities. Notify management of major repair or addition needs.
- Collaborate with EHS and Operations leaders to maintain all ISO certifications.
- Design and develop facility policies relevant to the department.
- Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout.
- Plan, budget, and schedule facility maintenance and modifications, including cost estimates and obtaining competitive quotes from vendors.
- Initiate planned maintenance programs for various office equipment.
- Responsible for preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC, office equipment, major and minor appliances, plumbing, electrical systems, compressors, emergency generators, trash compactors, building envelope, wastewater treatment equipment, water runoff equipment, gym equipment, life safety equipment, etc.
- Oversee cleaning, security, and maintenance of the facility, including landscaping, snow removal, treating icy sidewalks and parking lots, pest control, interior cleaning and supply services, cleanroom cleaning, etc.
- Build and maintain a schedule of all services and programs supporting the building and its equipment, detailing what, where, and when services are performed, including appropriate contacts and contract terms.
- Develop and administer the annual facilities budget.
- Serve as the Environmental Management System (EMS) Facility Supervisor.
- Negotiate contracts with and supervise all outside contractors.
- Ensure all outside contractors review and abide by the "EHS Policy and Procedure Manual for Contractors."
- Participate in the onsite safety program.
- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient department operation.
- Manage facilities projects for all East Coast facilities.
- Supervise the EHS Manager, Security and Facilities Admin to ensure alignment with overall facilities management goals.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (BS) or equivalent; or seven plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Certified Facility Manager a plus. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3+ years managing a facility with supervisory experience
- Experience in an ISO certified facility
- Experience in maintenance trades, business codes
- Require strong supervisory skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Project management skills required
- Ability to multi-task
