Summary of Job Duties:The HCU Education Coordinator works with Health Career U leadership in the Division for Academic Pathways and Workforce Partnerships. This position will provide overall administrative management, support, and coordination of all education curricula for undergraduate and high school programs. The HCU Education Coordinator will determine educational goals and outcomes for all site coordinators and student facilitators. S/He will work with the Executive Director to create a comprehensive plan to implement statewide programs. The HCU Education Coordinator will work to create a seamless pipeline for Pathways Academy Students into Health Career U programs. This position will help develop and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor key access and revenue metrics, assist with data analysis and implement process improvement. The HCU Education Coordinator will be responsible for managing the IT SAVVY along with managing various program timelines and keeping project plans up to date under the Health Career U program to ensure the achievement of goals. Exhibit excellent analytical and time management skills. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, computing or related field.
  • 3 years coordinating education programs, Program/Project Manager, Data Management, Special Projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent written and oral communication skills, public speaking, team player.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in health sciences, health administration, education or equivalent required.
  • 5-7 years Program/Project Manager, Data Management, Special Projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Education Curriculum Development:

  • Provide support to the Executive Director in creating strategic and best practices curriculum for all summer and year-around enrichment programs
  • Assist in developing and implementing protocols, standard guidelines, and quality assurance procedures to ensure best practices operations are in place for the programs across the state.
  • Responsible for Collaborating with the HCU team (Site Directors, Student Facilitators, and Interns) to create curriculum that directly affect outcomes of program(s) and activities.
  • Recruit and retain a productive work team that values data and outcomes and makes decisions according to the objectives and values of the UAMS Vision 2029 Strategic Plan.
  • Create program curricula to ensure students receive adequate exposure and exam preparation.
  • Conduct research to discover what ways students should learn materials and what type of exposure would be beneficial to students, as well as efficient student training.
  • Recommend curriculum materials such as textbooks, practice tests, vocabulary banks, and a plethora of other educational materials to guide students through the duration of programs successfully.
  • Work with campus professors and test prep company instructors to ensure each designated component of the curriculum can be taught efficiently.
  • Continue monitoring the progress of program curricula by conducting studies, visiting program sessions, and making recommendations as needed.
  • Track and document all student contact and programmatic activities to ensure that program objectives are met, and data collection through the CRM (IT SAVVY) processes and reporting procedures are followed.
  • Serve as the UpSquad (Prometheus) Champion for student engagement for the c student population along recruiting mentors from faculty.

Team Management:

  • Work with stakeholders and project staff to develop processes and protocols for identifying and enlisting potential students into the health career track at various pipeline stages.
  • Build solid supportive relationships with students, preceptors, and community members, and serve as a central liaison and facilitator to arrange and coordinate rotations, shadowing, mentoring, service and volunteer opportunities between students and provider role models.
  • Work closely with minority/disadvantaged students to serve as academic advisors and personal coaches for them throughout the educational pipeline and into a health care professional degree program.
  • Collaborate with Director of Student Engagement and Outreach to produce detail reporting on programs successes or modifications that need to be implemented.
  • Ensure quality work environment and assignments are appropriate for staff level, skills, and job description.

Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines. Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.

Indirect:

Must develop programs within targeted, defined budgetary guidelines and know grant financial spending practices and preferences.

Problem Solving/Accountability/Independence:

This person will be responsible for promptly meeting grant objectives related to educational assessments, curriculum development, implementation, and reporting. Must be able to work through problems as they arise, ask for help when needed, take accountability for their work within the team, and work independently/self-starter/ goal oriented within the scope of the overall project as appropriate.

Interaction:

Daily interaction with department staff via in-person meetings, interactive video (IVN) or computer teleconferencing, periodic meetings at the regional centers; periodic in-person or IVN meetings with visitors and outside organizations.
