Thales Defense & Security, Inc. has an opening for an intern within the RF Hardware Engineering department for 8 weeks during the summer of 2025. This position will be responsible for some entry-level assignments that will provide exposure to the software engineering job family. This position is located in the Germantown, MD office and reports to the Manager of Engineering.

Please Note: The Intern must be prepared to start in Germantown, MD in Summer 2025.



Responsibilities

During your summer internship with mission-driven engineers, you will work under an experienced mentorship to accomplish following:

    Assist in the design, simulation, and characterization of the analog / Radio Frequency (RF) circuitry commonly used in RF receivers as part of a Software-Defined Radio (SDR).
  • Use test equipment to take circuit measurements and clearly document results.
  • You will have the opportunity to learn and use RF design and development tools.


Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required. - Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university of college and have completed at least 2 semesters within the engineering field of study. Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Analog and Radio Frequency Design fundamentals.
  • Knowledgeable of PC based design and analysis tools in the area of RF Design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - fluent in English.
  • Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.

The hourly pay range for this role is $22.00 - $25.00 USD. The hour pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above. TDSI considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
