Learn more at www.pavion.com Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Lead Technician to join our security business unit. Primary Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead and supervise a team of security technicians responsible for installing, configuring, and testing security systems (e.g., CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, alarm systems) for new data center construction projects
- System Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the installation and integration of security infrastructure, ensuring systems are properly installed, configured, and tested per design specifications
- Collaboration with Construction & Engineering Teams: Work closely with construction, electrical, and network teams to ensure timely and coordinated installation of security systems
- Quality Control: Ensure all security systems are installed to meet quality standards, including testing and validation of systems before handover to operations
- Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during installation and commissioning. Escalate issues as needed to ensure timely resolution
- Training & Development: Train junior technicians on security systems installation, best practices, and safety protocols. Provide guidance on effective troubleshooting and system configuration
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of installations, system configurations, and test results. Generate progress reports for internal stakeholders
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, local and national codes, and company policies. Ensure security systems meet required compliance standards for data centers
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with third-party vendors and contractors, ensuring that security equipment is delivered on schedule and installed according to specifications
- Post-Installation Support: Oversee system testing and troubleshooting after installation to ensure proper operation. Assist with ongoing maintenance and support during the warranty period
Basic Qualification:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical certification (e.g., NICET, CompTIA Security+, etc.) or a related degree preferred

5+ years of experience in the installation, configuration, and commissioning of security systems (e.g., CCTV, access control, alarms, and other physical security systems)
At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role, managing teams of technicians in the field
Experience with security system installation in new construction or large-scale projects, ideally within the data center or critical infrastructure space
In-depth knowledge of security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related technologies
Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and system design documentation
Familiarity with low-voltage electrical systems and IT networking as they relate to security system installation
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and mentor a team
Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration with other teams, vendors, and management
OSHA 10, OSHA 30 certifications
Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs) during installations
Capable of working in various physical environments, including construction sites and data center facilities, often in confined spaces or elevated positions
Work is performed in construction and data center environments, which may involve exposure to construction noise, high-voltage equipment, and other safety hazards
Frequent travel to project sites is required during new data center builds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred certifications include NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) in Fire Alarm Systems or Security Systems, CompTIA Security+, or other industry-recognized certifications in physical security or network security
