Microsoft 365 SME

We're seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 (M365) Security SME to lead a large-scale M365 rollout for a prominent financial services organization. As the company transitions to Microsoft 365 across its global workforce, this role will play a critical part in designing and securing the platform to meet strict industry standards and regulatory requirements.
This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing enterprise-wide security strategies for M365, with a strong emphasis on identity protection, compliance, and Zero Trust architecture. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in securing cloud environments and aligning Microsoft 365 technologies with the needs of a highly regulated financial institution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the lead architect and advisor for M365 security during the global rollout
• Subject Matter Expert with Outlook
• Support compliance initiatives through Microsoft Information Protection (MIP), Insider Risk Management, and Compliance Manager
• Act as a strategic advisor to cross-functional teams, ensuring M365 security initiatives support broader risk and compliance goals
• Stay current on threat landscapes, emerging tools, and Microsoft roadmap updates

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years in IT, with significant focus on Microsoft 365 and enterprise cloud security
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 identity, security, and compliance features
• Expert-level knowledge of Azure AD, Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, and Identity Protection
• Strong background with Microsoft Defender (Endpoint, Identity, Office 365)
• Skilled in PowerShell for security automation and management
• Excellent analytical skills with a proactive approach to incident response and risk mitigation
