Network Engineer

Job Title: Network Engineer (Hybrid, Long-Term Contract)
Location: Tampa Florida - Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
Contract Type: Long-term, year-over-year contract with the potential to convert to full-time if an opening becomes available

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Network Engineer with a minimum of 7 years of experience to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days onsite per week. The ideal candidate will have solid route/switch experience, a CCNP certification, and strong hands-on expertise with Cisco Voice technologies.

You will work alongside a senior engineer on the team and collaborate with peers across various departments. This role does not involve large data center environments but will include work in MDF/IDF spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot network infrastructure across LAN/WAN environments
• Perform hands-on configuration and support of routers, switches, and firewalls
• Troubleshoot routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and related technologies
• Work closely with Cisco Voice systems, including:




• Tracing calls
• Creating Device Pools and Call Search Spaces
• Performing voice packet captures and analyzing them for troubleshooting
• Diagnosing and resolving SIP connectivity issues




• Support ongoing network performance monitoring and documentation
• Collaborate with senior network engineers and IT leadership on projects and escalations

Requirements:

• 7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience
• Proven expertise with Cisco networking equipment (switches, routers)
• CCNP certification required (or higher)
• Strong understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), LAN/WAN, and Layer 2/3 switching
• Deep experience in Cisco Voice, VoIP troubleshooting, SIP, and Unified Communications Manager
• Comfortable working in MDF/IDF environments (no large-scale DC work)
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
