The Department of Conservation & Natural Resources is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Seasonal Park Maintenance Workers to help us maintain Tobyhanna State Park. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker, you will provide manual work in the construction and maintenance of Tobyhanna State Park. You will perform maintenance work alone or with the assistance of a skilled worker. Your duties will include making repairs to buildings and facilities, assisting in the maintenance and cleaning of vehicles and equipment, and building simple forms for cement work. In this position, you will use carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and other tools to complete tasks. You can expect to maintain the grounds by mowing, cutting weeds, moving materials into dump trucks, and planting trees and shrubs. Additionally, you will be responsible for general housekeeping at the park including cleaning and supplying bathrooms, disposing of trash, and making minor repairs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time seasonal employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are determined from rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and rotating days off.
  • This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2026.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
