Responsibilities

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager specializing in DoD and commercial programs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of defense and commercial markets, strong business acumen, and a proven track record in both business development sales and formal capture. This role is responsible for identifying and pursuing growth opportunities, facilitating meetings for capability briefings and demonstrations, managing client relationships, and expanding our market reach through networking and strategic engagement.

Responsibilities: Strategic Business Development & Capture:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within DoD and commercial programs, aligning with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive plans to drive revenue growth through both sales and formal capture efforts.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and areas for expansion.
  • Lead and support proposal development efforts, including shaping requirements, partnering with internal teams, and ensuring compliance with procurement processes across both government and commercial sectors.
  • Generate new leads through targeted outreach, networking, and relationship-building, actively contributing to the company's overall pipeline development and growth strategy.
Client Relationship Management & Sales Execution:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across DoD agencies, commercial clients, and prime contractors.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnerships.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, identifying customer needs and delivering tailored solutions that align with their mission and business objectives.
  • Drive pipeline growth through targeted engagement, leveraging both existing relationships and new client outreach.
Facilitation of Meetings and Demonstrations:
  • Organize and lead meetings for capability briefings, technology demonstrations, and strategic discussions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to prepare high-quality presentations, proposals, and supporting materials.
  • Ensure seamless coordination and follow-up on all engagements to maximize business impact.
Expansion of Market Reach & Industry Engagement:
  • Identify adjacent opportunities by leveraging existing customer relationships and expanding into new mission areas and commercial applications.
  • Attend conferences, industry days, and commercial trade shows to generate leads, build brand awareness, and develop strategic partnerships.
  • Serve as a strong representative of the company, effectively communicating our value proposition and differentiators to potential customers and partners across both defense and commercial markets.

Qualifications

BS 16-18, MS 14+, PhD 10+

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales, with a focus on the defense industry and DoD programs.
  • Proven track record of successfully meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong understanding of DoD operations, procurement processes, and contracting mechanisms.
  • Experience with the DoD acquisition process, including procurement vehicles, compliance requirements, and contracting strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Equal Pay Act

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, Arcfield invests in its employees beyond just compensation.
