JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Medicine (DOM), in Hershey, PA, invites nomination and application for Research Faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, in the areas of biomedical sciences. This is a full-time 12-month, non-tenure track position. The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities would include: making contributions to research in the department related to the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) field and Gut Mucosal Immunology, developing and maintaining a sustainable and extramurally-funded research program, providing bioinformatic and IBD animal model expertise to the ongoing research within the gastro-intestinal research group in the DOM, teaching/assisting in the School of Medicine and/or PhD Biomedical science sciences programs, mentoring and advising of students and postdocs. There are ample opportunities to engage in collaborative research and contribute to enhancing the research portfolio as well as the teaching and service mission of the Department of Medicine, College of Medicine, at Penn State Milton Hershey Medical Center.

Candidates should have earned a PhD in Biomedical Sciences or a related field and have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates with a track record of effective scholarship, funding, previous teaching experience and research interests that complement the strengths of the school are encouraged to apply.
